Stand-Out Milestones from 2007

As we look back on 2007, I’m sure you’ll agree that it was a very interesting and challenging year for the collections industry. I appreciate the support we’ve had from you, our fantastic customers, as we experienced together some of the milestones that stand out in my mind.

The FTC gave our industry an opportunity to explain our business and some of the challenges that current regulations impose. I was honored to be in Washington, D.C., to represent collection vendors during the hearings. We are encouraged by recent events that seem to indicate progress in favor of our industry. The FCC ruling on cell phones is just one example. (See a summary in this newsletter.)

Competition for accounts appears to be increasing as more and more agencies bid for similar business, driving commissions down. The Debt Purchasing segment of the market continues to expand despite higher costs of purchasing accounts. The need for you to be more productive without increasing costs has guided our product development decisions. The tremendous growth we’ve experienced with our CT Impact hosted predictive dialing and broadcast messaging services has reinforced the correctness of our decision to enhance these cost-cutting options.

IAT held a highly successful User Conference in the great city of San Antonio. The contributions of our attendees, fantastic guest speakers and very informative session leaders provided ideas and methods for all to achieve even greater productivity and profits in the future.

IAT’s success parallels the success of our clients. When we help you achieve greater heights, you help us to do the same. Thank you for all you did to make 2007 a great year for IAT and for the success we’ve enjoyed with you through the past 22 years. I look forward to sharing a profitable and exciting 2008 with our many long-time and new customers.
